Bronies for Obama 2012 by K-B-Jones Bronies for Obama 2012 by K-B-Jones
Obama is seeking support from an underrepresented minority group.

Actually, I'm not sure why I made this. I'm not a brony. I've never even seen the show. But I wanted to explore drawing in a cutesy style and what's more kiddie-cute than a pony?

Plus, I just find it hilarious for some reason, but I'm not sure why. I think I'm poking fun at both Obama and ponies, but I really can't explain the joke. It's probably only funny in my own head. But it's still a pretty picture, right?

I didn't vote for either Obama or Romney.

Nearly every brony I know voted for Obama. Even the Republican ones, though largely due to a lack of a viable alternative.

Well, there'd be very few "Bronies for Romney", considering the fandom doesn't like logic, but I'm one of 'em.

I'm actually not a bronie. I just thought a pony would be fun to draw. I think bronies are silly. Sorry, but I do. Grown people watching ponies? Yeah, silly. But, hey, I like Megamind, so who am I to judge, really? Lots of people like silly things. It's fine.

However, I think it's entirely logical to support Obama.

He's been in office almost 4 years and the country's not doing so bad. I mean, yeah, it's still recovering from the recession, but the recession wasn't his fault. It was going down when he took office and he's managed to pull it back up to where it was when he started. More time and it will improve even more. It's not exactly fair to get all mad at him for the economy. It takes time for an economy to recover from what hit ours, but it IS recovering.

Further, he managed to get Obamacare passed. It isn't perfect and doesn't contain everything he wanted, but it's a vast improvement over what we had. Now people can't get kicked off their plan for getting sick, can't be denied coverage due to a pre-existing condition, can't be charged more for being female, etc. There are literally people who are alive today because of the health care they were able to get because of Obamacare that would be dead today, otherwise.

His guys killed Bin Laden.

He believes in equal rights and equal pay for all people regardless of gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation.

He recognizes that some problems, like immigration are messy and don't have any really good, perfect solutions. But he's trying, like with the Dream Act.

His people reorganized FEMA so that it was ready to help after a disaster like Hurricane Sandy much better than they did with Hurricane Katrina under Bush.

He cares about what's right for all Americans, not just the rich people that are mostly Mitt Romney's concern. Romney thinks that, if you're poor, it's because you didn't work hard enough. That you're lazy and want to mooch off the rest of us. Obama knows that, if you aren't born with a silver spoon in your mouth, you can work your butt off every day and still be poor. You can even still be so impoverished that you need help to feed yourself and your kids.

Obama knows that trickle-down economics has never worked before, and it HAS been tried. What grows the middle class is to to pay good wages and get the money circulating well, not lock it up in corporate investments that only make the rich richer and the poor poorer. There are historical precedents. Ayn Rand does not represent Christian values. She was an Atheist! And not the sort of secular humanist atheist I am, but a selfish, immoral person who believed one should look after oneself only and everyone else is on their own.

Mitt Romney has had so many positions on the issues, it's hard to keep track. But one thing is clear. He's an uber-rich man who wants what's good for his uber-rich donors and everyone else can look after themselves. Even when he tries to help the less fortunate, it's merely a transparent bid for a photo-op. Nothing with substance.

And he's a liar. He's constantly saying things that his campaign later has to correct. He continues to run campaign ads that have been debunked by everyone. He lies about car companies moving jobs to China that even the car companies call him out on.

There's just so many logical reasons to vote for Obama and none I can see to vote for Romney.

Thanks. I could go on, but that's what I could think of off the top of my head. I mean, he's not perfect, but I trust him about a thousand percent more than I trust Romney. I'm so glad he won. :)

Yeah, not sure if I want either. But it demanded that I draw it. I don't know why. Sometimes an image lodges in my head and won't leave me alone until I draw it. Such was the case with this. I did have a lot of fun drawing the mane and tail. But why this image exists? I'm as clueless as you are. I just hope it entertains someone.

Are you so busy accepting the Left's painting of Romney that you cannot see your own favored president's failed economic and foreign policies? Word of advice if you're getting into politics: if you're not informed, your opinion is the creator of 4chan.

Oi oi, calm your butt. You have your own opinion about Obama. If you hate him, whatever. Don't push it onto me. To me YOU'RE not informed. Don't pull the regular bullshit of "the 7.8% unemployment rate (which is now 7.9%) is a lie" because it isn't, its proving that the economy is getting better. At least Obama hasn't insulted London at the Olympic games or written about how small and secluded they are in a book. Without Obama, my teacher wouldn't have health insurance right now. So If I could, I'd vote for him. To me, you're just living on a pack of lies. But your side believes I'm living on a pack of lies. Really, this whole thing is a huge fight about who is right and who is wrong.

My question is: Are you so busy accepting the Right's radical thoughts of Obama that you cannot see your own candidate's failure of talking about a plan and keeping ONE opinion straight? He's such a flip-flopper that I have no idea what the man is for. All I know is that he wants to ban abortion rights, give power the states and get rid of Federal Government programs (well look at how FEMA helped the states stuck in Hurricane Sandy), get rid of Obamacare (that actually mostly consists of ideas from RomneyCare that is currently active in Massachusetts, THE MAN IS TRYING KILLING HIS OWN IDEAS), and cut our taxes. When I get older, I wouldn't mind paying taxes, it helps the community and keeps the state well funded.

Bah, Sorry for blowing out like that. I'm usually not one for this type of thing but I feel like we're all just hypocrites because we point fingers and say "YOU'RE LYING". "You're entitled to an opinion, but you aren't entitled to a fact."

You might like this. It's another political cartoon I did, but with no ponies. I think it sums up both side's positions fairly well. [link]

I considered making this pony a donkey instead, but in the pony style.

Oh that comic is so true! D: When I first discovered more things about politics, my hopes died as I learned that it isn't common sense to help the poor and not help the rich anymore. I've always thought it was common sense, there goes my childhood.

Oh that's interesting, they have some Donkeys in MLP so you could use that as a reference or do your own style because this style is actually pretty cool. :la:

Politics are awful. I actually try not to pay too much attention to it because there's so little I can actually do about it. It just frustrates me. I mean, come election time, I research the candidates and vote. But all of them are so beholden to the lobbyists in order to fund their campaigns and keep their jobs that I have the profound feeling that they don't listen much to their voters except to try to figure out what to say to get their votes. I feel that Democrats are marginally better, but far from perfect. But there are so many, many problems I have with Republicans lately that it truly makes the Democrats look like shiny saints by comparison. Especially here. I live in Kansas.

Thanks for the tip about the donkey. I really have no idea what's on the show because I don't watch it. It's on cable, right? I don't have that. I didn't do a donkey simply because I wouldn't have been able to do that fun swirly, curly mane and tail. I had too much fun doing that.

You are so correct, I cannot believe what has happened over the past year. This country is changing so much that it confuses me to think, "How do people think like this?" Saying that Health Insurance is terrible and its not 'freedom' and we shouldn't have it, just let the people die because they can't afford or get Health Insurance. D:> That's so mean. Democrats certainly are not perfect (they need to get more aggressive and try to push their policies a little more) but I think they're better then what I'm seeing/hearing. I'm not that good on which state is on which side, Left or Right. ^^' So I'm assuming from your comment that Kansas is mainly Republican. I live in California so Democrats are everywhere~ xD Though I have met some Republicans but they both don't like 'extreme' Republican Policies. I wonder how many Republicans have turned to Democrats this year...

I'm only able to watch the show on Youtube because I'm in the same case as you, I do not have cable. D: I'd love to support the show by watching it on my TV but my family cannot afford it. Oh swirly tails are so fun to draw! :icondohohoplz:

Oh dear, I'm listening to the news right now... And how does Romney accuse Obama of having a 'war on women'? I'm... so... confused... by... this... logic...

Oh, and Republicans vote Republican because they watch FOX News which misrepresents and out-right lies about things all the time. Okay, the "liberal" media may not be as non-biased as one would hope, but compared to FOX News? No contest. There was a study that found that viewers of FOX news, Republican or Democrat, were less informed about any given issue than those who did not watch FOX.

FOX news has the goal of getting the Republicans in power because the Republicans are entirely on the side of big business. They want to go back to the days of the robber barons and the Republicans are making that happen. Seriously.

Go read Mother Jones Magazine. You'll be a liberal for life.

Oh, let me explain the logic. Obama or some other Democrat says something negative about the Republicans. The Republican respond with, "I know you are, but what am I?" :)

Kansas is the one that wasn't teaching evolution in public schools for awhile. And they're one of the ones that act like they know what's best for women's health (so women have been posting health questions and stuff on their FB pages as if the politicians were gynecologists). I'm surrounded by Republicans on all sides. Everyone but my own family. I keep meaning to read "What's the Matter with Kansas" but I haven't had time. I did buy it, though.

I'm glad you liked it. I guess that's what happens when someone who doesn't watch the show and only has a general idea of how a MLP is drawn tries her hand at it. I'm glad you liked the mane. I had fun doing all the little curls and swirls in the mane and tail.

She's thinking, "Does this cutie mark make me look fat?" Or maybe, "I hope I don't regret this tattoo after November."
